Hypnotherapy in Nottingham - Peter Atkin D.Hyp.BSCH (Assoc)

Welcome to P A Hypnotherapy
There is a time in everyone's life when you need help and support. This may be because of issues to do with your physical, emotional or mental well being. Any one of these issues can have a devastating impact on your home, family and work life, affecting not only yourself, but those around you. Clinical Hypnotherapy will be the means by which you start to change all of that and begin to take control of yourself and your life.
It doesn't always have to be the negative things in life where you need help. Sometimes, all that's needed is that extra little bit of motivation, focus or concentration to allow us to achieve our goals. Clinical Hypnotherapy can help with this. Are you going for promotion at work, have all the skills, but know that you'll crumble at the interview? Do you need help with passing your driving test? Would you like to have a 9 handicap at golf instead of 11? Clinical Hypnotherapy will be the means by which you start to show you're full potential.
What can Clinical Hypnotherapy help with?
Clinical Hypnotherapy can help in many areas. Below are just a few of the most common areas of treatment, but many more can be successfully treated.
- Infertility
- Anxiety and Stress
- Phobias
- Weight Loss
- Quitting Smoking
- Confidence and Emotional Problems
- Sleep Problems
- Sports and Academic Performance
Hypnotherapy is medically accepted to also benefit the following: unwanted habits - nail biting, bed wetting, healthy eating, improve work and study, achieving potential, compulsions, emotional problems, inhibitions, worries, tension, blood pressure, stomach problems, IBS, gynaecological problems - PMT, psychogenic infertility, obstetrics (painless childbirth), skin problems, pain control, minor surgery, dentistry, arthritic pains, aches and pains, some sexual problems...
Put simply, where your problem is due to habitual conditioning (habit formation), accumulated stress or unresolved events in your past then hypnotherapy can be used to access and reprogramme these complexes which are being sustained and remain active at the unconscious level.
What about Pete Atkin
My interest in Hypnosis and its therapeutic use was first sparked off when my father had a coronary in the early 70s. Part of his recovery program involved self-hypnosis as a means of dealing with stress and promoting relaxation. Six years ago, a friend went to a Hypnotherapist because she was afraid of flying and I was amazed at the results they achieved and the transformation it had on her. I began investigating the subject through reading and talking to other people who had experienced therapy, as well as talking to a qualified therapists. I then spent four months looking for an academic organisation capable of providing a professional qualification, eventually settling on the London College of Clinical Hypnosis (LCCH - www.lcch.co.uk). I enrolled in their program and two years later I had qualified to practice, having attained my diploma and associate membership of the British Society of Clinical Hypnosis (BSCH - www.bsch.org.uk). I have now been practicing for just over three years and I have helped a variety of people with problems including, stopping smoking, anxiety, phobias, motivational sessions, self-hypnosis, fertility, sports related issues and many more.
